The Aleph Adult Day Center program focuses on enhancing socialization, cognitive engagement, and creative expression for our clients - providing mental and social stimulation during the day which can improve sleep quality at night - while giving their day-to-day caregivers the respite they need and deserve through:

  • Physical activity, like chair-based stretches, which can help reduce fall risks

  • Discussions about current events and memories to keep the mind sharp

  • Games, snacks and beverages over conversation to encourage social interaction

  • Art therapy to help express feelings

  • Reminiscent therapy

  • Birthday and holiday celebrations to create a festive atmosphere

Our person-centered approach

At Aleph, we know that no two people are the same and work to foster an inclusive environment to benefit all Day Center participants through:

  • A customized assessment to ensure the Day Center is the right fit for them

  • Tailored programs and activities for those living with dementia from
trained staff who are certified in caring for people with dementia

  • Flexible scheduling options to cater to the time of day and number of hours that meet each individual's need

Why should your loved one consider an adult day center?

For the participant, adult day centers provide:

  • A safe and secure environment for the day (or part of the day)

  • Enjoyable and educational activities

  • Physical exercise which can help reduce fall risks

  • Meaningful social interaction which can improve both mental and physical health

  • Mental and social stimulation during the day which can improve sleep quality at night

  • The chance to build new friendships and enjoy peer support

At an adult day center, you have control over the activities you participate in which can help bolster your self-esteem!

For the caregiver, adult day centers provide:

  • Regular breaks from the demands of caregiving which can reduce your stress levels and help you avoid burnout

  • Respite to continue working, attend school, or devote more time to other family members

  • Peace of mind that your loved one isn’t home alone, but is in a supervised and safe environment
